Coding the route from A to B
Routing is one of the few great activities that combine Korbo Blocks’ building blocks with coding exercises and developing logical thinking.
Below, we present one of the tasks from the textbook Koduj z Korbo – Korbo Code.
The teacher divides the children into teams of four, and assigns each team two Korbo sets and a set of arrows. The children from the platforms build the 8 × 4 mat and the four towers shown in the Worksheet (page 57). Then the children place their towers as shown in the picture on the worksheet. With a green gear with a blue handle they mark the starting area, with a red gear and with a yellow handle the finishing area. The task of each team is to choose the shortest path from start to finish, which:
- A) it will avoid all towe
rs B) it will only pass the towers with blue gears C) it
will go through the highest tower D
) it will go through all the towers
Attention:
- It avoids the tower – it means that when we turn our route, the tower does not move.
- It goes through the tower – when we turn the route, the tower moves.
